And the widespread drought is reaching epic proportions resulting in research and products that offer pretty drastic solutions. In fact, many of us struggle with the image of transforming wastewater into potable (read drinkable) water, yet this is a very real (and constructive) solution to the drought problems.

Growing up in Norway in the 70s, almost every home included one or two rooms with radiant heat. It wasn’t seen as luxurious or upscale; it was simply a commonplace feature. Homes built in the 70s mostly included radiant heated floors in bathrooms and laundry rooms, but today, when I visit Norway, I’ve noticed that it’s fairly common for newer homes to have radiant heat throughout an entire home.

If you’re a plan reviewer or fire official looking at an Uponor AquaSAFE fire sprinkler design for the first time, it can look very unfamiliar when compared to a more traditional rigid pipe system. There are also some important differences between an NFPA 13D system and an NFPA 13 or even 13R system. Chances are you may not have seen many 13D systems yet.
