PEX Tubing at the Aloft Hotel

Re-pipe with PEX – Just Ask Todd

Posted 8/5/2014 by Astrid Mohn

Palmer Mechanical and Todd Ringgold are good Southern friends of ours here at Uponor. Over the years, Todd has become a huge PEX supporter, and at Palmer Mechanical he will almost exclusively specify PEX; especially for plumbing re-pipe jobs.

Todd, who is the project manager at Palmer Mechanical in Tulsa, says the main reason for choosing PEX in redesign projects is that these jobs often offer limited workspaces and tight ceiling spaces. And they also have to consider other trades who need to access the same areas – think fire sprinklers, heating, cooling and lighting – all working together in one tight and cramped area.

This was illustrated best in a large historical renovation that Todd and his team were involved with in downtown Tulsa. The Aloft Tulsa Downtown Hotel, owned by Starwood Hotel and Resorts, had been an eyesore with cries for demolition from locals when the transformation from drab to fab started.  Todd called on Uponor and PEX to help get the job done – on time and on budget – running lines in such a way that he stayed out of other trades’ hair and kept up with the project’s strict deadlines.

So with 19,000 feet of Uponor AquaPEX® lining the ceiling and floors of this newly completed luxury hotel, Todd and his team are on to other jobs where they continue to recommend PEX tubing in both new and re-pipe jobs.

Thanks, Todd, for your Southern patronage! We sure appreciate y’all!
