SFE Enterprises and Lee Company Work Around the Clock on the Set of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

September 20, 2010

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition traveled recently to Nashville to makeover a school rather than a home. For anyone who has watched the show, you know the construction crews and volunteers work around the clock. Joining the Extreme Makeover team on this project were Kelly Higgins and Tripp Cates from SFE Enterprises (Uponor rep) and Lee Company, a mechanical contractor and Uponor installer from Franklin, Tenn.

The crew built a 6,000-square-foot preschool for the Lighthouse Christian School, one of their 18 buildings destroyed by the torrential floods in May 2010. One building, the Hope Mission building, was featured on national TV as video captured it floating down a flooded interstate near Antioch, Tenn.

The new school features Uponor PEX Plumbing systems. SFE and Lee Company were onsite Sept. 11, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and then back again Sept. 12, 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Sept. 13. Nearly 100 people were working inside the building and about the same number outside at any given time to get the job completed over the weekend. In fact, nearly 1,500 people were signed up to volunteer.

The episode will air Nov. 7, 2010, so check your local listings.
