Home on the Range
With two young children, Dave Holdorf and his wife’s schedules are filled with sports, homework, friends and carpooling. But he admits he doesn’t mind being involved in the minutia of daily life with the kids — he enjoys the fun and games, the endless questions, and the requests for “just one more time, dad” when wrestling with his energetic son.
From Drawing Table to Classroom
Based in New York, Dave Holdorf feels he has grown up with Uponor after 12 years serving in a variety of roles from research and development, design, technical support, trade shows and now, training. “Because of my tenure at Uponor, I’ve had a chance to be involved with many of our products from their infancy on the drawing table. This provides me with a great insight to our product lines which I try to convey to students in the classroom.”
Light-Bulb Moments
Dave Holdorf is an expert in Uponor's Climate Cŏntrol™ systems, and has been instrumental in creating a fun learning curriculum to drive knowledge on Uponor’s radiant floor heating systems. He admits that he doesn’t really have an off-switch when it comes to his work. He is often chastised by his wife that his job is “not what you do, it is what you are.” His mind constantly churns on how to best convey information to students in a productive and useful way. When he sees the light-bulb moments in the classroom, he often gets more excited than the students. “The aha-I-got-it moments are so uplifting,” he says. “It’s the reason I feel so enthusiastic about what I do.”
