ASTM Large Dimension Wirsbo hePEX™ plus Tubing
Wirsbo hePEX™ plus tubing is crosslinked polyethylene (PEX-a) tubing sealed with a special polymer (EVOH) barrier that prevents corrosion of the ferrous components in a closed-loop heating system due to oxygen diffusion.
Historically, large dimension Wirsbo hePEX plus tubing shipped from Europe to North America and was only offered in metric sizes. However, Uponor now manufactures large dimension tubing in North America. To keep consistent with ASTM standard sizes used for all North American PEX tubing, Uponor now offers large dimension tubing in 1¼", 1½" and 2" sizes.
Manufacturing ASTM Large Dimension Wirsbo hePEX plus tubing in North America greatly reduces lead times, as well as allows customers to use the same large dimension ProPEX® fittings and tools used in plumbing applications.
ASTM Large Dimension Wirsbo hePEX plus tubing is compatible with engineered plastic (EP) and brass large dimension ProPEX fitting line offerings.
