The Human Factor in HVAC
Online Webinar

Course Description

The human factor in HVAC is a one hour overview of influencers affecting wide scale adaptation of indoor environmental quality into the built environment. Includes a brief study in demographics and socioeconomic conditions. Solutions are presented based on health and wellness supported by a basic study in thermal comfort (ASHRAE 55) and indoor air quality (ASHRAE 62).

Note:  1 ASHRAE PDH (Professional Development Hour) for attending

About Robert Bean

Robert Bean is a registered engineering technologist in construction engineering technology and a noted authority on radiant heating. In 2007, he was selected as a Distinguished Lecturer for the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), speaking on human factors in HVAC, radiant heating and cooling, and snow and ice melting systems. An avid student of industrial design and indoor environmental ergonomics, Bean volunteers his knowledge with industry groups across North America, while managing www.healthyheating.com, a not-for-profit site on anthropology, architecture and radiant-based HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) systems.

Radiant Based HVAC Systems
Online Webinar

Course Description

This one hour presentation covers the basics of incorporating radiant into the design of buildings and HVAC systems. It includes a brief history of radiant between 10,000 B.C. to modern times, a look at relevant ASHRAE Standards as they pertain to indoor environmental quality and radiant including the research work on which the standards are based. There will be a discussion on design tools such as FEA and thermography which will lead into a discussion on human design factors as they relate to ASHRAE 55 and 62. Presentation will conclude with a look a design processes and instrumentation for studying radiant cooling and heating systems.
