The Uponor AquaSAFE System combines the fire sprinklers with the home’s cold-water plumbing. It uses the same proven, flexible, durable Uponor AquaPEX® crosslinked polyethylene (PEX) tubing that provides water to the plumbing fixtures in a home so there is always a ready supply of water to the sprinkler heads if it is ever needed in the event of a fire.

Uponor AquaSAFE multipurpose systems integrate the fire sprinklers with the home’s cold-water plumbing, making it a natural extension for the plumbing trade. Because you already have the knowledge, tools and, most importantly, the solid working relationships with home builders, with a little training you can quickly and easily add an additional opportunity that will help your business prosper.

PEX is an acronym for crosslinked polyethylene. It is a flexible, durable, corrosion-resistant product that possesses distinctive properties that make it ideal for fire sprinkler, plumbing and radiant floor heating and cooling systems. There are three different types of PEX tubing: PEX-a, PEX-b and PEX-c. Uponor manufactures PEX-a tubing, which is considered the superior type of PEX in the industry.

The sprinklers in an Uponor AquaSAFE System respond to heat, not smoke. The odds of a malfunction are just one in 16 million.

Uponor launched AquaSAFE in 2000. It was the industry’s first non-stagnant, multipurpose plumbing and fire sprinkler system, forever revolutionizing the way residential sprinkler systems were installed and utilized.
