Uponor Featured in Semi-final World Cup Stadium

July 16, 2010

Cape Town Stadium, equipped with Uponor systems, held one of the semi-final games during the recent World Cup. When the Cape Town Stadium project for the FIFA World Cup 2010 was initiated in 2007, cost control was one of the main arguments, along with the perfect performance and safety of the tubing.

Uponor installed several kinds of potable water systems throughout the stadium; a total amount of 9,300 metres of Uponor PEX-a tubing was used. Many different tubing sizes were used, dimensions varying from 16mm up to 110mm. Also, the highly advanced Uponor PPSU Quick & Easy fittings (i.e., ProPEX®) were installed.
