Have you heard the big news?

A first in the industry, Uponor PEX pipe and ProPEX® ASTM F1960 expansion fittings are now available in 2½" and 3" sizes, offering professionals like you the ability to design and install even more commercial plumbing and hydronic piping systems with PEX. No one else in the industry offers PEX pipes and corresponding ProPEX expansion fittings in that large of a size, which can be attributed to our expertly innovative team. It’s the Uponor PEX pipe you love in the size you need.

To align with this large offering, Milwaukee® Electric Tool launched its new M18™ FORCELOGIC™ ProPEX Expansion Tool that expands 2", 2½" and 3" Uponor PEX pipe for making ProPEX connections painlessly simple.

The pipe offering, which includes Uponor AquaPEX® for potable-plumbing applications and Wirsbo hePEX™ oxygen-barrier pipe for hydronic heating and cooling applications, is available in various coil lengths and straight lengths to meet any of your application needs. The ProPEX ASTM F1960 expansion fitting offering includes a complete line of tees, elbows, couplings and transition fittings, as well as a flange adapter kit. The offering also includes new PEX pipe cutting tools and larger sizes of PEX-a Pipe Support.

So what exactly does this mean for you?

You can finally expand your commercial business because a larger PEX size means more applications, from skyscraping multi-family dwellings to big ‘n’ boxy academic buildings. Whether you’re a residential business hoping to break into the commercial world, or you’re a commercial customer looking to distance yourself from CPVC, copper, steel or polypropylene products, our 2½" and 3" size offerings may be the solution you’ve been waiting for.

We’ve heard your feedback and we understand professionals are concerned with four key components when considering new commercial-grade projects: lower costs, product confidence, simple installations and code conformance—and Uponor has your back.

Our new offering is a professional solution to your commercial projects. When it comes down to it, it’s cost-effective for materials and labor savings, not to mention life-cycle costs. The easy installation allows you to allocate resources to take on a higher volume work load and larger projects. The 2½" and 3" size offerings, like all of our PEX pipe and ProPEX fittings, have a 25-year limited warranty when installed by an Uponor-trained professional giving you credibility to your name and company.

Aging apartment complexes and old, outdated buildings are common problems for commercial building owners across the country. How building owners deal with aging-building dilemmas depend on a variety of issues, but the cosmetic updates often seem to gain the biggest priority. It goes without saying that new carpeting, modern countertops and attractive cabinetry help keep units rented and tenants happy. Happy that is, until the issues behind the walls start making their appearance with aging, leaky pipes and low water pressure. Repiping buildings faced with these types of issues is an economical and smart way to keep maintenance costs in check long term while keeping tenants pleased with how the building runs and operates.

SageWater, an Alexandra, Va.-based company has become an industry leader in pipe replacement with over 30 million feet of new pipe installed in more than 80,000 occupied apartments and condos across the country. They have become quite adept at delivering a complete pipe replacement program (and include a staff of plumbers, wall finishers, tile setters, painters, etc.) to ensure a quick process with as little inconvenience to the residents as possible.

SageWater has been choosing PEX from Uponor as a preferred product in repipe installations because PEX is quick to install, comes in long coil lengths and has a tight bend radius for quicker installation time. One of the latest collaborations was a project in Lafayette, La. where an older CPVC-piped building was repiped with PEX from Uponor. Thanks to SageWater and Uponor, the 184-unit apartment building, The Arts at Broussard Crossing, has a brand new plumbing system that tenants can rely on and tap into without any worries about low water pressure or leaks.

Repiping old and outdated buildings has become a growing business opportunity for many companies, and with PEX, the job is easier than ever. Check us out at www.uponorpro.com.
