Yep, you read that right. The prefabricated home called River Vine Vineyards is designed and built by American Modular Systems (AMS), and is intended to be one of the most advanced, high-end, prefab homes ever constructed. The completely custom, zero-net energy, California residence is working to achieve LEED® Platinum, the highest certification available.

Here are three things you should know about this remarkable home.

1.  The River Vine Project has four focus areas helping to construct this one-of-a-kind space.

The home revolves around net-zero energy, smart home technology, LEED Platinum qualifications and innovative project partners, like Heliodyne, Tech Lighting and Uponor, that help make it all happen. The partners were selected by AMS for two reasons: they all invest in the future and they all pioneer innovations.

The co-founder of AMS/Gen7 Schools wrote a blog about why they chose to partner with Uponor. Read the blog here.

2.  There’s a River Vine construction and installation progress gallery.

The team at River Vine updates a progress image gallery with renderings and factory prefab photos as well as onsite images. This way, you can stay up to date on the project until its completion.

3.  An Uponor PEX radiant floor heating system is installed throughout the home.

Roughly 3,000 ft. of ½" Wirsbo hePEX™ tubing for radiant floor heating was installed throughout the home. Uponor PEX proved to be a great solution for a prefab structure because of the flexibility and durability of the pipe.

Read the Uponor case study titled, “High-end prefab home receives high-quality radiant heating system” to learn more about the radiant floor heating system installation.
